FAQ

Common questions for prospective students

Who can apply?

The Texas School of Preaching places an emphasis on training up Christian men to preach the
Gospel (2 Tim. 4:2). Thus, our focus is is solely on men who desire to go into full-time work preaching the gospel.

How long is the program?

Our curriculum requires two years to complete.

How much is tuition?

There is no tuition fee of any kind. The education is provided for the glory of God’s church. Your only financial concern will be for your physical needs (food, vehicle, insurance, etc.) and housing utilities and maintenance.

How do I raise support?

  1. Develop a financial plan and share it with potential backers.
  2. Compile a roster of potential supporters and persistently follow up with them. Ensure you carry your roster as you advance through your studies for sending progress updates.
  3. Arrange face-to-face meetings with elders and congregations; avoid solely relying on mail communication, and don’t hesitate or feel embarrassed to articulate your needs. The Bible teaches that preachers have a right to live by the gospel work they engage in (1 Cor. 9:14).
  4. Commit to yourself and to God to pursue your desire to preach. Trust that God will provide for you; seek His assistance through prayer, and He will provide.
  5. Keep us in the loop and engaged—we might be able to furnish you with contacts, offer direct assistance (if available), advocate on your behalf through writing or calls, and provide encouragement.
  6. Bear in mind that with God’s guidance, you can attend TXSOP and emerge as a proclaimer of the redeeming Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How much support should I raise?

Needs vary depending on marital status, family size, etc. For more information please contact us directly and we can discuss it further.

Students will be required to work out their own housing in conjunction with the support they raise. We are more than happy to speak with you and provide guidance/recommendations about housing.

Is there an age limit for students?

There are no age restrictions. Students may range from young adults to retirees.

Will I have an opportunity to preach before graduating?
